Imidacloprid is the active ingredient in our Pro Grub Control. Imidacloprid is considered a neonicotinoid, which is created to imitate nicotine. Nicotine can be found in various plants (obviously like tobacco) and is toxic to insects. Like nicotine, imidacloprid causes disruptions within an insect's nervous system, causing a quick death. Imidacloprid is absorbed through the plant's leaves or directly from the roots. Chewing and sucking insects then ingest the imidacloprid while eating various pieces of the plant.
