FAQs of Liquid Harvest Mesotrione

"How do you apply Mesotrione?"

  • Mesotrione needs to be sprayed directly over the undesired foliage/designated treatment areas. Mesotrione needs to be activated with water within 10 days of application. This can be by rainfall or manually with a hose.

"What are the dosage rates for Mesotrione?"

  • For a spot application that would cover 2,000 square feet, you will want to use 1 tsp of Mesotrione with 3 tsp of surfactant and 2 gallons of water. For pre & post-emergent application that would cover 1 surface acre, you will want to use 4-8 oz of Mesotrione with 9 oz of surfactant and 30 gallons of water.

"How long does it take to see results?"

  • Mesotrione starts working immediately but can take up to 2-3 weeks before full death occurs on weeds.

"After application, when can I mow my yard?"

  • There are no restrictions with mowing. The product works through the soil and up into the root system, so cutting the grass itself will not negatively affect treatment.

"Are there any restrictions regarding newly germinated turfgrass?"

  • Newly germinated turfgrass does have restrictions. This should not be treated with Mesotrione until 4 weeks after emergence or after 2-4 mowings, whichever is longer.

"Are there temperature recommendations with Mesotrione?"

  • For successful results, we recommend application when ground temperatures are at least 53 degrees Fahrenheit and air temperatures at 65 degrees Fahrenheit.
