Rust Treatment

14 Dec 2010
Restore your tree stands, don't buy new ones!

Do you have any rusty hunting equipment? Don’t let it go to waste, do a rust treatment on it. When it comes to hunting equipment, the only thing that is constantly left out in the elements is tree stands.

The last thing you need is to fall due to a rusty worn down weld or cross member. It is much more cost effective to do a rust treatment on your stands rather than buy new stands every couple years.

Today’s tree stand prices have gotten pretty expensive so take care of the one’s you have. I use Rust Kutter as my rust treatment product. I have metal stands that after a couple rust treatments are on their 6th and 7th year of being in the woods and they still look great.

I’m a bigger man and when you’re my size tree stands only get much more expensive. The average cost for a tree stand that I have to buy is around $220. The average cost for a bottle of a rust treatment product is $16.  I would much rather spend around $16 and give a little time and effort then go and spend hundreds of dollars on something that could have been prevented with a simple rust treatment.
