Rust Converter or Rust Remover

16 Oct 2011

Need to treat a nasty rust spot or piece of equipment? You have two ways to approach your rust problem; with a rust remover or rust converter. While these terms sound similar there are significant differences in how they tackle your rust.

Rust removers require dipping your part into it to remove the rust. Then, waiting and monitoring its progress from 20 minutes to a day or longer. Finally, you must seal your item, if possible, or the oxidization process will start all over again.

Sanco Industries Rust Kutter offers a cost-effective way to take control of your rust problem. By converting the surface rust into a ferric phosphate, Rust Kutter creates a barrier to help prevent further rusting. A rust converter doesn’t eliminate the rust; it chemically alters it into a black substance ready for priming.

With fall and cooler weather, now is the time to treat your rusty equipment for next spring. After treatment a primer is recommended, but not required. Severe rusted or pitted metal will require replacement as the rust is too advanced. Don’t wait until severe rusting means more drastic measures.
