Pond Dye

29 Nov 2010
The beauty about pond dye is that it is very forgiving when it comes to how much to use.
Determining how much pond dye to use in your pond is largely based on personal preference.  We, at Sanco, will give you a recommended dosage for our pond dyes.  Generally one gallon of pond dye will treat one acre with an average depth 4-6 feet.  If you prefer to have a deeper, darker color you can add more pond dye.  If you are not sure the size of your pond we can help measure your pond.

Sanco’s has three different colors of pond dye to choose from:
  • Crystal Blue- gives your pond a beautiful royal blue tint.
  • Black Out- gives your pond deep lake effect that mirror’s the surrounding landscape.
  • Ocean Blue- brings the refreshing colors of the ocean to your back yard.

Each color has its own unique look.  All of Sanco’s pond dyes are safe for swimming, fishing, livestock, and irrigation.  Sanco’s pond dyes are also easy to use; you simply pour the pond dye around the edge of your pond and the color will distribute evenly throughout your pond in about 24 hours.  Most pond dyes can last up to 30 days depending on rainfall, run-off, and outflow of the pond.  Some people even mix the different color pond dyes to get a truly unique color.
