Beneficial Pond Bacteria

14 Sep 2011

Do you have a pond/lake in need of pond sludge or muck removal? Or have you ever wondered how you might prevent prolific amounts of growth or clumping of muck at the bottom of your pond? Do you want something that will help you have some semblance of control when dealing with your pond muck issues?

Well, if the answer to any of those questions was yes, this is definitely the article for you.

Okay, to start out, when someone says, “Bacteria,” what’s the first thing to come to mind? If you’re like most people the first item to come to mind when you hear this term is some form of microorganism that acts as a pathogen. Now you’re probably thinking I’ve lost my mind, I mean I’m supposed to be helping you with your pond problems & now I’m going off on a tangent about bacteria. Don’t worry; I do have a method to my madness. Here at Sanco we actually manufacture two different products that act as pond sludge/muck removal agents, and those products happen to be beneficial pond bacteria based chemicals.  These two products are called Natural Pond Cleaner and Muck Doctor.  Since these are already naturally occurring bacteria, both of these products are completely safe for livestock, pets, and humans.  The only difference between these products is the fact that Muck Doctor is more concentrated and more variety is given to the bacterial selection process in the production of this chemical compound.  When you add either of these products to your pond/lake you should expect it to break down muck, sludge, & dead vegetation that have collected on the bottom of your pond.  These products will enhance the effects of the naturally occurring bacteria that’s already residing in your pond, which will in turn result in an absorption of micronutrients throughout the water; this results in an overall more aesthetically pleasing atmosphere for the customer.  These products are most effective when added to a water source that’s above 60oF.

Now you may be wondering why you should buy a Sanco product over the competition’s product?  Well, mainly because our products are the only ones that use bacterial spores rather than matured & activated bacteria.  This allows you to keep the product longer and makes the effect of the bacteria last much longer.  You see, they don’t die near as quickly because they’re lives don’t actually “begin” until you add them to water; a common example of this is the brine shrimp (aka sea monkeys).  This will allow you to get the most for your money, and also takes away the time stipulation that the competitor’s product binds you with.  Overall the spores in our product are just more effective and efficient.
