Lemnoideae, more commonly referred to as Duckweed, or water lentils are aquatic plants which float on or just beneath the surface of still or slow-moving bodies of water, such as ponds. Duckweed is a common nuisance to pond owners and can really destroy the aesthetic value of a pond when left untreated. The thing that makes duckweed so hard to deal with is its structure, or rather lack of structure.
