If your large pond or lake is a typical one it has marginal aquatic plants and a healthy algae population. But many man-made ponds, especially young ones, are prone to excessive plant growth resulting in those plants becoming pond weeds. Take heart. With a simple plan and quality pond care products from Sanco, you can bring those pond weeds under control.
Underwater & At the Water’s Edge
For submerged and emergent plants a small amount will provide shade to fishing ponds and a little aesthetic beauty. You can physically remove dense areas and follow up with our aquatic herbicide to finish the job:
· Tsunami DQ for submerged weeds, and
· Catt Plex for emergent plants.
Planktonic & Filamentous Algae
From “pea soup” to stringy leaf-like plants, algae need a slightly different approach since it is usually a larger problem. Check for sources of overabundant nutrient leaking into your pond. Just tossing in some algaecide will only have limited success until the food source of your algae problems is addressed. We offer:
· Crystal Plex for non-targeted algae control, and
· Copper Sulfate in granular form for a more targeted algae control.
Contact Sanco for more information on the restrictions, dosage amounts, or even an exact measurement for your pond (a small fee applies).
