Pond Weed Control

14 Jun 2011

Now is the time many pond owners will start to see pond weeds growing around the shallow areas of their ponds.  It is important for pond owners to continue using preventative pond maintenance products like Crystal Blue pond dye, but they will also need to purchase an aquatic herbicide to control submerged weed growth.

The most effective way to treat submerged pond weeds is by using Sanco’s Tsunami DQ.  Tsunami DQ is a diquat based herbicide that should be applied by spray application.  Tsunami DQ is a contact herbicide and needs to be sprayed in the target location where the weeds are growing for best results.  It is recommended to treat a portion of the pond at a time to avoid oxygen depletion.

Tsunami DQ will control almost any submerged pond weed that you may have growing.  Once you have your weeds controlled continue using pond dye and beneficial pond bacteria to prevent the weeds from growing back.
