Pond Fertilizer:  Leave it to the Pros

07 May 2013

Some things should be left to people who know exactly what they are doing.  The old sang, “Leave it to the pros” is one that should not go unrecognized when dealing with certain tasks.  One task that Sanco Industries believes is very serious and should be left to the people who know what they are doing is pond fertilizing.  Sanco Industries offers products that are much safer and easier to administer then any pond fertilizer.  Sanco’s products also carry far less risks involved with misusing the products over what could happen if fertilizers are mishandled.

Fertilizing pond water is done to increase planktonic algal bloom which will in ideal theory produce more food for the fish in the pond resulting in bigger fish.  It seems like an easy idea, but without carefully monitoring the amount of fertilizer it can go wrong quickly.  Over fertilizing by just a little bit could result in dead fish and rapid growths of weeds and mat forming algae.  With the added pain that fertilizers turn pond water pea-green, pond fertilizing is better if completely avoided.  Sanco has many pond maintenance products such as pond dyes and bacteria based muck reducing products that will keep ponds in excellent condition and offer no harmful side effects to ponds.  If pond owners insist on using fertilizers over Sanco’s easy to use and extremely effective pond maintenance products, then we encourage pond owners to educate themselves on exactly what kind of fertilizers and how much fertilizers should be used.
