Pond Dye Effectiveness

03 Jul 2011

Occasionally we will have a customer that has introduced Crystal Blue pond dye and did not get the results they wanted.  Here are some tips to ensure you have applied your pond colorant correctly to get optimal results.

  1. Be sure you have your pond properly measured.  Calculate the surface area and the average depth to make sure you are using the correct amount of pond dye to color your entire body of water.
  2. Did you have a large amount of precipitation the week you applied Crystal Blue?  If so the rainfall could very likely dilute the color.
  3. If your pond stays a beautiful color for a week and then dissipates quickly and you haven’t had rainfall maybe you have such a significant amount of outflow that your pond may not hold color.

Use these pointers to ensure you get the most out of your pond dye.  Sanco has three different colors to choose from: Crystal Blue, Ocean Blue, or Black Out.  Sanco has a pond color for you no matter what your personal preference.
