Killing Duckweed

08 Jun 2014

There are many different threats to the health and appearance of a pond.  One of the most serious pains for any pond owner is weeds.  Just as weeds can take over a yard, left untreated a small area of weeds can take over an entire pond in no time.  One particular weed that is known for quickly multiplying is duckweed.  Duckweed is classified as a floating pond weed and no pond owner wants floating duckweed to be the first impression of his or her pond.  Tsunami DQ, a product offered by Sanco Industries, is a pond weed control product that will kill duckweed.

Tsunami DQ is a non-selective herbicide that will work on submerged weeds as well as the pesky floating pond weeds like duckweed.  By using a diquat dibromide based herbicide Tsunami DQ kills surface and submerged weeds that are copper resistant and as noted before it is very effective in the elimination of duckweed.  Tsunami DQ should be used in a volume of 1-2 gallons per surface acre depending on infestation and type of weed that is causing problems.

For any questions on the weed killing power of Tsunami DQ or any other product offered by Sanco Industries please contact us today.
