Keep Tree Roots out of Your Sewer Pipes

05 Jun 2013
Tree roots are always on the hunt for rich nutrient sources in order to continue to grow. Seeing as how a trees root system can easily span two to three times that of its branches width, this gives them an enormous reach that may lead them to your septic pipes. Every home’s septic system is a gold mine of nutrients that trees love. The roots will find small cracks and openings in your pipes, and start to work their way inside. Once there, they’ll continue to grow at fast rate, causing slow water draining at first, and leading to complete clogs and backups if left unchecked.

If this sounds like what you’re facing with your plumbing, you’re in luck. We’ve created a product that will help you to fight against these invasive roots. It’s been aptly named Root Destroyer. It contains copper sulfate, which after applied will go in and start to push them back. Once the pipe is clear, it will form an area around the opening that the tree roots will stay away from for a time. When you notice that your water is beginning to drain slower again, simply flush another application down your drain to create another barrier.

By using Root Destroyer, you can easily keep invasive root systems out of your sewer pipes without needing to remove the tree. Take a look around our store for more septic products and other items.
