Keep Tree Roots Out of Your Sewer Pipes

18 Oct 2012

Sewer lines are like an open buffet for trees. They’ll dig their roots down deep, sensing the moisture and rich nutrients that will seep out of hairline fractures in your pipes and joints. Once they find these cracks and breaks, they’ll send their roots in to get inside them, leading to growth of roots inside your pipes. This will cause blockages and backups, leading to complete stoppage of your water flow and costly repair bills.

There are a few precautionary steps you can take to ensure that your pipes are safe from these pesky roots. Find out the root span of the trees that you want to plant, and make sure that they are planted a good distance from your pipes. That can be out of the question if you have existing trees though. Another, cheaper and easier, method of controlling tree roots in your pipes is to use our Root Destroyer product.

Root Destroyer will go to work on tree roots with a dose of copper sulfate. If you’d like more information on how our Root Destroyer works, feel free to contact us today.
