Don't be tempted to treat too early

It is very tempting to think that spring has arrived before the season has actually changed.  The first day the temperature warms up, the birds start chirping, and the snow start melting most people are quick to hang up their winter coats and go out in a t-shirt.  After a freezing cold winter any temperature above freezing starts to feel like spring.  However, for pond owners it is important not to rush into pond maintenance before it actually gets warm enough.

Most maintenance products offered by Sanco Industries should only be used in water that is at least 50 degrees F.  Even though it may seem warm and may even be above 50 degrees outside, that doesn’t mean the internal temperature of a pond has reached that point.    Many pond owners get spring fever like the rest of us and want to start eliminating pond weeds as soon as they see them, but the temptation has to be fought until the water is warm enough and the products are able to work to the best of their ability.
