Backyard Pond Dye Safety

30 Jan 2012

Sanco’s backyard pond dye is 100% safe when used properly.  We have three different colors of backyard pond dye to choose from:

No matter what color you prefer you can turn your backyard pond into a beautiful retreat.  Our pond dyes are safe for swimming, fishing, and wildlife that visit your pond.  Before you treat your pond with one of Sanco’s backyard pond dyes be sure you have properly measured your pond.  If you do not take a pre-measurement before you treat you could end up putting too much dye in your pond resulting in a displeasing look and in most severe cases you could dye rocks and surrounding landscapes.  If you have mis-measured your pond and use too little, the result will be inefficient color or even no coloration at all.

Another precaution to take when using backyard pond dyes is to wear gloves and pour close to the surface to avoid splattering.  The pond dye right out of the bottle can stain hands and clothing because it is so concentrated.  Once the dye has mixed throughout your pond it is not concentrated enough to stain.

If you do get Sanco’s backyard pond dye on your hands simply use and 50/50 bleach water mixture to wash hands and give it a little time.  The stains will begin to fade and disappear in about a week.
