Algaecide for your Pond

05 Aug 2012

Algae can take any pond and turn it into a green, slimy, icky mess. It doesn’t take long for this to happen, either! You need to make sure that you get the jump on algae early in the season and that you stay on top of it throughout the year. There are a variety of ways you can accomplish this, and we here at Sanco can provide you with them.

1.       Make sure that your pond is clear from runoff. Having extra nutrients flowing into your pond will provide the perfect growing conditions for algae. Making sure that your pond is built or constructed in such a way to limit this will go a long way towards keeping your water algae-free.

2.       You can use one of our proven algaecides depending on what your situation calls for. We offer both Crystal Plex and Copper Sulfate. Proper application will help combat the excessive growth, and it will help to kill off your algae. You need to be sure you take care with application of the product though. If your algae dies off too quickly, it can deplete your pond of precious oxygen which can kill off other plants or cause an accidental fish kill.

We can easily help you with your algae problems. All of our pond chemicals are 100% safe for humans and animals, and is completely safe for use. Feel free to browse our online store to see all of our pond maintenance chemicals, and please contact us if you have any questions
