Weed ID: Sago Pond Weed

Sago pondweed can grow quickly and can be found early to mid-season. It is quite a nuisance as it clogs up boat propellers and tangles fishing lures.

Sago pondweed has an alternate leaf structure and a long slender leaf. The individual leaf can be anywhere from 2-12 in. and 1/16 in. wide. When in the water, the plant looks thick and grass like. It is often confused with horned pondweed.

We have found that it is best to use Tsunami DQ to treat sago pond weed. Use 1 gallon of product per acre of pond. You might have to do more than one treatment for a full kill.
