Time To Apply Pond Dye

13 Mar 2011
Spring is rapidly approaching, the snow is melting and the sun will begin to shine brighter and longer.  It is time to start preparing for your Spring pond maintenance.  Everything will start to turn a refreshing shade of green, even your pond.  As your snow melts and your pond thaws nutrients will collect in your pond and start to feed an early algae and weed bloom
Here are some important pond maintenance tips to start your pond off on the right.  Be sure to have pond dye on hand to pour in as soon as your pond thaws.  Sanco Industries offers a variety of colors to suite your preference.

Crystal Blue Pond Dye will color your pond a beautiful shade of true blue.  Ocean Blue Pond Dye will tint your pond a turquoise color.  Black Out Pond Dye is our newest pond dye and is gaining in popularity among individual pond owners.  Black Out will make your pond look like a deep lake and mirror the surrounding landscape.  It is important to introduce pond dye early in the season for most effective results in your pond maintenance program.

In conjunction with introducing pond dye you will also need to introduce a beneficial pond bacteria.  A beneficial pond bacteria, like Natural Pond Cleaner, will help neutralize all of the nutrients and nitrogen collecting in your pond as the snow melts and your pond thaws.  Natural Pond Cleaner will also start consuming the dead vegetation and fish waste that will fertilize an algae or weed bloom.  Using pond dyes and beneficial pond bacteria are the best preventative maintenance products you can use to give you an edge on the inevitable growth of the Spring.
