Rust Converter Spray

09 Dec 2010
The difference between using a rust converter spray compared to repairing the rust comes down to time and the type of project your undertaking.
The use of a rust converter spray is much more time and cost effective than repairing the rust.  Repairing rust requires lots of prep work, grinding, filling, sanding, priming, then painting.  Repairing rust is something you would want to do on a vintage car, when you are doing a full body restoration.  However, if you are simply fixing a rusty area on a vehicle, piece of machinery, or expensive farm equipment then you would want to use a rust converter spray.  A rust converter spray like Rust Kutter is perfect for small jobs.  The prep work is minimal when using a rust converter spray.

Using a rust converter spray:
  • Simply wire brush the area to get rid of loose debris.
  • Apply rust converter spray, Rust Kutter.
  • Once applied the iron oxide (rust) into ferric phosphate, which acts as a barrier to prevent new rust from penetrating your new paint job.
