Pond Care

13 Apr 2011

A neglected pond provides no value in either visual ascetics or function. Protecting your backyard pond with careful pond care will enhance your enjoyment of your little oasis. Pond care takes due diligence and a little hard work, but pays off admirably. Depending on the current state of your pond, Sanco has an easy to follow program to end your pond problems.

Healthy amounts of aquatic pond vegetation and algae keep fish and other aquatic animals fed and provide cover. Overgrown with aquatic weeds, a pond will become filled with algae blooms or floating aquatic weeds rendering your pond useless.

First, identify the aquatic weeds that plague your pond. Some are resistant to common chemical treatments and using the wrong one is throwing your money away. Once the aquatic weeds have been identified find the right product from our impressive line of pond care chemicals.

  • Catt Plex – Controls shoreline and emerged aquatic plants like cattails and water lilies.  The use of Plex Mate is highly recommended to aid in absorption.
  • Tsunami DQ – Controls duckweed, water hyacinth, and pond weed. Using Plex Mate will enhance its ability to eliminate floating marginal weeds.
  • Crystal Plex – copper sulfate-based designed to control common nuisance algae including chara, filamentous, and planktonic varieties.
