Muck Removal

10 Jan 2011

Pond muck removal can be very expensive and ruin your surrounding landscape.  Many new pond owners make the mistake of thinking there pond is new and there is no need to use pond maintenance products.  In fact, that is the best time to start using pond maintenance products; you want to start off on the right foot once your pond is full.

Two of the recommended pond maintenance products are Crystal Blue pond dye and Natural Pond Cleaner muck remover.  These two products can help slow down the growth of pesky weeds and algae.  Overall these products are very healthy for your pond.

If you do not use pond maintenance products you will soon have to worry about the amount of muck and sludge that is building up on your pond floor.  Muck on a pond floor comes from several different things.  Fish debris, fertilizer runoff, dead plants, grass clippings, and leaves are all part of the organic material that will rapidly build up if you are not using a muck removal product.

Muck removal products consist of beneficial pond bacteria that will thrive in water temperatures above 50 degrees F.  The bacteria will feed off of the muck on the pond floor.  By maintaining high doses of beneficial pond bacteria you will doge having to spend thousands of dollars on a large muck removal project like mechanically dredging.
