Hydrodictyon Algae / Water Net

Hydrodictyon algae, also known as "water net", is a type of algae that we don't often see around our Northeast Indiana region.

If you look closely, you can clearly see where the nickname "water net" comes from. The structure of this slimey algae looks very much like a net and typically blooms in the late spring and early summer months.

Hydrodictyon does not respond well with just Copper Sulfate, so the best course of action with treatment would be using a chelated copper product like our Crystal Plex.

Not sure on what is growing in your pond? Feel free to reach out to our office with photos. We can help you identify your growth and your best options for treatment.
