Give Your Aquatic Weeds A Shave

When temperatures begin to tumble, we encourage pond owners to monitor their water temperatures before they treat aquatic weeds with chemicals. Once water temperatures dip below 45°F it is advised to refrain from using aquatic herbicides, read more about chemically treating pond weeds in winter by clicking on the link. However, that still leaves unsightly growth around the ponds shoreline.

Sanco has another solution that will get the job done in any temperature. While others are celebrating “No Shave November” you can give your aquatic weeds a shave with the Weed Razer. The Weed Razer is the perfect solution to dipping water temps and pesky aquatic weeds. You can manually cut the weeds off by using the Weed Razer.

The Weed Razer’s sharp blades will cut aquatic weeds with ease by simply throwing the tool out into the water and with short, jerking motions pull the Weed Razer back. The tool is 8 pounds, lite enough to toss 30 feet, works at the base of the weed and cuts up to 4 feet wide.

We also encourage pond owners to use the Weed Raker to clean up the loose weed debris after cutting. This will minimize the material that collects on the pond floor, rots and becomes fertile material for next year’s growth.
