FAQs About Indoor & Outdoor Insect Control

"What are the dosage rates for Pro Indoor & Outdoor Insect Control?"

  • Dosing rates can vary depending on what type of bug you are treating for. General dosing is roughly 0.5-1 ounce of product for 1 gallon of water per 1,000 square feet.

"Do some insects need more treatments than others?"

  • It is possible, though it must be noted that the Bifenthrin has great residual. Using it once a month outdoors should be plenty, as any bug who comes into contact with the product after treatment will die. The product attacks the nervous system of the insects, so death occurs quickly, though might not be immediate. We would recommend Insect Control every other month for indoor use.

"For outdoor use, how far out/up from the house should I spray?"

  • This is generally a preference. The main importance is using the appropriate amount of product per the size of the area. For example, the label recommends 0.5-1 oz. of product per gallon of water per 1,000 square feet. When spraying, hit the area where the foundation and siding come together. Bugs will climb up the foundation and into the siding to get into your house, so treating this area will ensure that they come into contact the Bifenthrin. Adjust your sprayer to about a 4-6 inch wide band when spraying outside.

"How should I use this product inside?"

  • When using inside, we recommend treating all the baseboards and around all the doorframes in each room of your home to put up a “barrier”. If using a sprayer indoors, adjust the sprayer as small as possible so it is more like a stream. Put the nozzle right up against these areas to avoid splatter.

"Is the treated area safe after application?"

  • Once the sprayed areas have dried completely, people and pets can safely re-enter the treated area.
