Deer Tracker

15 Nov 2010
Using a deer tracker can make the difference between having a successful vs. unsuccessful hunt. I know from personal experience.

I shot a very respectable ten point buck. The first shot felt great but after quickly reviewing how the buck reacted; I immediately thought twice about my shot. I quickly fired another round and he still didn’t act as though he was hurt. I realized I was going to have to use a deer tracker.  I knew my shotgun was shooting straight because I had just dialed it in at the range and was 100% comfortable with my grouping. After waiting an hour or so I got down out of my stand and walked over to where the buck was standing when I first shot. I found a little blood and started following the trail. As I followed this blood trail I was spraying a deer tracking agent, Trax-Max, next to the blood because at this point I was still skeptical on the shot placement.  Trax-Max is a blue substance that is a highly visible deer tracker. I tracked him into a 14 acre thicket. It was getting pretty dark at this point and I was beginning to have doubts. I made the decision to back out using my deer tracker to mark my trail and resume the search the next morning. When I came back it was extremely easy to follow the deer tracker I had used. Once I got to the last spot I where I sprayed the deer tracker, I continued my search and incredibly my trophy buck was only another fifty yards into the thicket and my shot placement was in fact good. I just think this buck had enough adrenaline pumping to take him as far as it did. I am grateful that Trax-Max deer tracker helped me as much as it did to guide me right to my trophy.
