Beneficial Pond Bacteria

12 Apr 2011

Beneficial pond bacteria can make the difference between your pond being infested with weeds and algae to having a manageable amount of growth.  Beneficial pond bacteria like Sanco’s Natural Pond Cleaner, will feed off of the organic pond muck.  This muck is what weeds and algae will thrive on; so if you can maintain minimal muck levels, then you can maintain your growth.

Sanco has several different products that contain beneficial pond bacteria.  Natural Pond Cleaner is a maintenance dose of bacteria and should be added at least once a month or every time you add pond dye.  If you have severe muck problems along your shoreline, at your beach or dock area then we recommend a more concentrated beneficial pond bacteria, Muck Doctor.  Muck Doctor comes in the form of a spike that is thrown into the pond and consumes inches of muck in 30-90 days of application.

All of Sanco’s beneficial pond bacteria products are 100% safe for humans, fish, and wildlife.  Beneficial pond bacteria is also most active in water temperature above 40 degrees and when introduced into a pond that is properly aerated.
