Hoof Plex Footbath

10/27/2011

Hoof problems occur to a significant percentage of dairy cattle.  A common preventative solution is the use of livestock footbaths.

Footbaths usually contain water and copper sulfate.  Copper sulfate is known to control digital dermatitis, clean debris from the feet, and disinfect the area.  Much controversy has been discussed about the effect that copper sulfate will have on the environment when it is discarded.  Traditional copper footbaths can build up in the soil and very little is taken up by crops.

Sanco has a solution.  Our Hoof Plex Footbath Concentrate is a copper sulfate based formula that is in a liquid form.  You can treat the same amount of cattle with much less copper and much less effect on the environment.  Sanco’s Hoof Plex Footbath Concentrate keeps the active ingredient suspended within the water during a run, this is why a much smaller amount of copper sulfate will be as effective in treating the same amount of cattle.
